Asian Blepharoplasty - procedures and pictures

 Blepharoplasty is a way to get your upper and the lower eyelid corrected so as you will get a fresh rejuvenated look. Most of the people of the Asian origin also want to go for the eyelid surgery or the Blepharoplasty as they have very different constitution of the eyelids as compared to the Occidental eyelids.  

Most the Asians be it Indian, Vietnamese, Koran, Chinese and Japanese folks are very conscious about their looks and want to look better especially those who are working in the US. That said these folks will have to undergo what is known as the Asian eyelid surgery or the Asian Blepharoplasty. In some cases it is also known as the double eyelid surgery.  

Comparing the Asian eyelids with the Occidental creases it is clear that most of the people of the Asian descent have little or no creases above the eyes. That said the intention of these operation is that the surgeon will perform the surgical procedure to correct the non existent crease or they being asymmetrical creases.  

That said the other difference is that Blepharoplasty or the occidental eyelid surgery is generally done on the people who are within the age group above the thirties and the forties. In the case of the Asian Blepharoplasty it is performed in the age groups which are young almost teens and want to look more Western.  

 If you are thinking of having the an eyelid surgery and you are an Asian then make sure that you search for the surgeon who are familiar with the Asian face and have done the Asian Blepharoplasty before. This is very critical as the Asian Blepharoplasty is not like the normal Eyelid surgery. The normal eyelid surgery is subtractive as in only the excess fat is removed and the excess muscle is also removed whereas in the case of the Asian Blepharoplasty the surgical procedure is additive as you will have a new crease where non exists

Always talk to the doctor about your expectation before taking a decision and also ask the doctor to give you some idea about how you will look and ask for the before and after pictures of the eyelid surgery. Double eyelid surgery is what really we are talking about and the Asian Blepharoplasty is actually a misnomer which is very commonly used.  

In most cases the Asian Blepharoplasty also called the double eyelid surgery will involve only the upper eyelid. Bui in some cases you may require the lower eyelid surgery also. This is required if you have excess fat under your eyes.
