People who are always running short of time because of their hectic lifestyle or those who have parents which are old would know how painful it is to remember that you have to take the medication on time.
I definitely remember my mom calling my grandmother three four times a day to make sure that she ahs taken the medication and even then it was relying my mother’s memory. In short you were trying to make sure that your mother remembered to call her mother for the pill. It definitely happened once or twice when my mom was in a meeting in the office that she forgot to call her mom. I remember the panic that followed only to be calmed down by the doctor by the message that all is not lost if you have skipped medication for that time.
The solution that my mother found was that of the automatic pill dispenser and that dispenser was a wonderful thing to happen because of the fact that it is will send an alarm out to tell you that you need to take the pill. You can set up the alarm in your watch or the alarm clock but the fact is that even then it will be very hard to make sure that you set it up for four times a day.

You can easily set up to 28 alarms in a day and completely relax as then you are basically set up for the whole month.
The automatic pill dispenser has a tray which will have the space to carry pills and when the exact time happens the alarm sound will go off and the pill will be dispensed at that particular into your hand when you press the button.
The tray has 28 compartments which will hold several medicines and these medicines can be dispensed at one time if you need these. The dispenser is lockable and hence you not worry about any pill falling off. The only thing which will be needed to be done by you is the filling up of the dispenser tray with the medicines.
A lot of these dispensers have the small red light which lights up when the alarm goes off. You will need four AAAA batteries for this dispenser.
Pros and cons
The benefits of having this is that if you know that you have a
memory issue or your lifestyle is such that you will not be able to
remember it on time then you should use it for sure.
No bottles to be opened and no problems with the missing dosages.
No issues of over does or under dose as it will only dispense the prescribed medication.
Cons
The setting of alarms may not be very easy and I know initially my mother definitely fumbled a lot of with this.
A
lot of elderly people will not be able to do it by themselves so they
will need assistance in understanding the concept and also in
remembering what the alarm is all about.
The price can be a factor though the total cost will be in the range of $150.00 - $200.00.
The tray which is used can be easily replaced and it costs about $10.00.
In all I would say that it worked wonders for my grandmother and I am sure it would for a lot of elderly people and their caretakers. It is definitely a great stress reliever in your hectic schedule.
