Gastric bypass revision
67Why revision gastric bypass surgery?
People who have a major problem or have a major obesity
issues will general have tow kind of options to drastically reduce their weight
and avoid major health problems like the sleep apnea. These two surgeries
called the bariatric surgeries are the ones which have been there for long and
these are the lap-band and the gastric bypass surgery. The gastric bypass
surgery is the one which will be done by cutting and stapling the stomach into
a small stomach
The intestines are reattached to newer smaller stomach. In
this the major risk after the gastric bypass surgery is the loss or the
nutrients and the vitamins. That is why you will have to take the multivitamins
and the supplements to make sure that you have the adequate heath maintained
after you have gone thigh the surgery.
There are a variety of reasons why the gastric bypass revision
surgery will need to happen. The prime reason why that will happen is that
because of the weight loss goals that you wanted to achieve. Now if for some
reason you were not able to achieve that goal then you may go in for a gastric bypass
revision surgery. The other reason is that because of the complications that
you may develop after the first gastric bypass surgery. This can happen because
of a variety of reasons and some are pure mechanical reasons like the pouch
dilation and the other is the anostomotic dilation.
In the gastric bypass revisions the conversion is done from the gastric bypass to the duodenal switch gastric bypass. Now there is major risk of complications compared to the original gastric bypass surgery and also there are a lot of complications that arise as the old bypassed stomach is being told to wake up and perform the functions. The complications which is generally there is the marginal ulcer. There is another procedure which is called the stomaphx . This is a new procedure and has been approved by the FDA in 2007. This can be performed on the individuals who have originally undergone the roux-en-y gastric bypass procedure
Then there is another procedure which has no surgery is the ROSE surgery in which the stomach pouch is reduced using the instruments which are passed through the mouth and it is known as the Restorative Obesity Surgery, Endolumena. In this the endoscope is passed through the mouth to put in sutures on the connection between the intestine and the stomach. Now the cost of these surgeries can be pretty much high but in general it costs about $10000 to $12000. Also make sure about the revision financing as in general there is no insurance for these procedures. Now you can have these surgeries abroad in countries like India to reduce the cost but before that you will have to make sure that hospital is properly qualified for the treatment.
Make sure that you have your food habits in check so that you do not have to go through the gastric bypass revision but again if the medical advise is that gastric bypass is a must then definitely revision will be needed.

Wow, this is one of the worst written articles I've ever read about bypass. Make sure you have someone read your writing before you post it!
